C.E.O. Comfort Strap™ offers a sleek design while providing maximum comfort. The durable neoprene strap incorporates top grade leather and custom cord to arrive at the ideal strap. The unique slide holds the desired length while offering easy, two-finger adjustment capabilities. The versatile C.E.O. Comfort Strap™ has a choice of two connection options. You can attach the unique polyurethane tab to your thumb rest or use the plastic-covered metal hook if you have an eyelet attachment on your instrument. The C.E.O. Comfort Strap™ comes with a unique polyurethane tab that you can attach to the thumb rest. If the tab is difficult to attach to the thumb rest, simply soak the tab in warm water. This will soften it, enabling you to easily attach to the thumb rest. Once the tab cools it will be securely attached to you instrument.
The C.E.O. Comfort Strap™ incorporates a unique locking slide that secures the strap in the proper position.

I have the same concern about the thumb tab as the person in the previous review. It really needs to be made of leather. Maybe the plastic thumb tab could be included with the junior strap for younger students or it could be a choice like the color of the strap is. Otherwise I absolutely LOVE this strap. It takes so much of the weight of the instrument off my right hand which then improves my playing greatly. I have arthritis in my right thumb- I bought the strap to help relieve pain from holding the clarinet while playing. The tab on the back attaching to the horn is thick plastic and very uncomfortable. The description on the packaging says that the tab is made out of leather. I used one that a fellow clarinetist had and it felt just perfect, the same identical one but hers was older and the tab was made of leather. Please, make the ones out of leather/leatherette materials available. Guess I will have to return mine or get my shoe repairman to do a special job for me!! We switched from the leather to the polyurethane tab a few years ago because we found the polyurethane to be more durable and longer lasting. (posted on 1/27/12)

The cord is not elastic. It is made of nylon and does not stretch.
